Brauner’s Paintbrush: chest, statue and Notre-Dame painting

Collect the brush in the Library, obtain Masterpiece from the workshop statue, then use the painting in the Main Hall.

Collect the paintbrush in the Library

Brauner’s Paintbrush is in a Library chest. Open the paintbrush entry below and choose its chest location to find the correct room. This is the pickup destination; the painting where the brush is used is in the Main Hall.

The brush alone is not the complete requirement for the painting. You also need to finish Brauner’s reward sequence and claim Masterpiece.

Use heavy Smash in Brauner’s Atelier

Unlock Smash, then return to Brauner’s Atelier in the Main Hall. Start above the special statue and press Down + Jump while airborne. Allow a longer fall so the impact becomes strong enough; a short hop does not break this statue.

After destroying the statue, complete the scene and interact with the reward orb to claim Masterpiece. This special statue requires the heavy impact; it is different from the ordinary breakable statues that award experience.

Use the painting in Gallery of Eternal Night

With the brush collected and Masterpiece claimed, go to Gallery of Eternal Night in the Main Hall. Interact with the Notre-Dame painting to open the way. Use the room link below to distinguish this destination from the Library chest and Brauner’s Atelier.

If the painting does not respond, check both prerequisites: possessing the paintbrush and claiming the reward orb after the statue event. Use the linked Gallery of Eternal Night room to find the correct painting.

How to use the reward

Masterpiece summons a gargoyle that shoots fireballs. While it remains alive, cast again to command a plunge toward a nearby enemy and an explosion. The second cast is a command for an existing summon; wait for a new summon if the gargoyle has already disappeared.
