Learn what each anchor does
Leaving the first boss through Abandoned Sewers introduces two anchor types. Golden rings allow swinging; purple anchors pull Rose toward a higher point. Aim at the correct anchor rather than expecting both types to behave alike.
Optional: return to Sewer Reservoir
From Path of the Rat, return toward Sewer Reservoir. Use the anchors to reach the upper platforms and the attack book that was previously out of reach. The links below identify actual recorded objects; nearby rooms may share the same name.
Continue toward Prison Tower
To continue, leave Path of the Rat toward Court of Miracles, cross Bridge of the Millers and proceed into Burned District. At the mill, operate the lever to reverse its direction before climbing. The nearby Mirror of Life provides a useful recovery point.
Prison Tower: keep optional loot separate
The route now branches toward Prison Tower. Cestus is recorded in Sewer Reservoir, not at the tower summit. Use its individual map pin when searching for it. Do not confuse the whip movement ability with an equippable whip weapon.
