The oak landmark and the pan are different positions
Overgrown Oak is the tree-shaped Scales of Justice in the Palace of Justice, Paris Streets. The landmark and the inscription share the lower position; the pan interaction is above and slightly to the left. Reaching the landmark pin does not put Rose on the pan.
Read the inscription, then jump onto the raised pan on the left of the trunk. Stand on the pan and use Interact when prompted. Use your current keyboard or controller binding.
The exact resource requirement
The trial automatically restores health and mana before draining them. You do not need to spend a potion to refill first. Controls are locked during the sequence.
Each full 10 points of maximum HP or maximum MP counts as one installment. Count the two bars separately, discarding each remainder below 10: together they must cover at least 32 installments, or 320 points. Both bars do not need 320 points each, and a fixed number of upgrades to each bar is not required.
The scale spends 10 MP whenever at least 10 MP remain; otherwise it spends health. If both current MP and current HP are below 10 before an installment, the trial fails. The health drain preserves at least 1 HP, so the trial itself cannot kill Rose.
If the trial fails, increase either maximum with Brave or Wise Heart Fragments and try again. The starting action also removes Glass Armor and the protection that blocks one hit; these effects do not replace the resource requirement.
Claim the orb after the scene
After success, advance Saint Louis’s judgment scene; there are no dialogue choices or correct answers to select. Then interact with the reward orb for The Judge Arcana, Chains of Justice and Valmanway. Watching the scene and immediately leaving does not complete the reward claim.
The linked reward pages explain the spell and sword separately. These rewards share the Saint Louis event; they are not three separate pickups at the oak’s landmark position.
